PUBLIC HEALTH TEAM
“Public health is a discipline that addresses health at a population level”. Public health not only deals with the treatment of unhealthy people but it also deals with the preventing the healthy people from getting diseased.
Introduction:
Sanitation problem is one of the major issues affecting public health. This project is based on the study of sanitation issues in the selected areas i.e., Chokkasandra near Dasarahalli and Shrirampura near Mantri square. Keeping sanitation as our main topic we went forward for the survey. After doing survey we got to know that the health problems of the people living over there are mainly because of improper sanitation. Our report said that 50% of the houses over there did not have basic facilities such as toilets and solid waste management and they choose open defecation which was the root cause for all the health issues over there.

Our experiences:
When we visited Chokkasandra near Dasarahalli for the first time we were shocked to see the living conditions over there because of "unhygienic" and poor living conditions of the people. When we went on with our enquiry we got to know the people over there were going for open defecation which is really shocking news as that area located in city like Bangalore.
Purpose:
When sanitation problems are completely solved in India we can overcome many health issues that are commonly caused due to improper sanitation, which make our India healthy and intern wealthy. So this is our small beginning to make our dream of swatch hearth come true.
Mission:
We being the responsible citizen of India keeping the sustainable development in our mind we want to make our nation better by making them free from sanitation problems.
Based on our experience we personally felt that the people living over there are very humble, innocent and unaware. So it’s very important to improve their standard of living and to make them aware of the consequences arising due to unhygienic surroundings and to help them in keeping their surrounding environment hygiene.
Impact of the work:
Based on our survey report we got to know that around 50%of houses over there do not have toilets. So we went to seek help from the corporator of that area on behalf of the people. Since he was very cooperative he has assured us to build public toilets for them and has taken over two months of time for the purpose. We hope that our work will help those people
